Delete your WriteOffer account
From inside the app
Open WriteOffer, tap Account in the bottom bar, then Delete account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. The deletion happens immediately — there is no waiting period and no confirmation email to click.
By email
If you can no longer sign in, email privacy@writeoffer.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject Delete my account. We will confirm the request and delete the account within 30 days. We will ask you to confirm from that address before deleting anything, because the request itself is not something we can verify any other way.
What is deleted
- your account and its email address
- every document you uploaded, sent or completed, including the sealed PDF copies
- the recipients, form fields and captured signatures on those documents
- the audit trail for each document
- your profile, and any device registered to receive push notifications
None of it is kept in an archive or a soft-deleted state. It is removed from the live database and from file storage in the same operation.
What is not deleted
- Copies already sent to other people. When a document is completed we email a copy to every party. Those copies are in their mailboxes and are not ours to remove.
- Routine encrypted backups. Our database provider takes automatic backups for disaster recovery. Deleted data can persist in those until they are overwritten on their normal rotation, and they are not used to restore individual accounts.
Deleting one document rather than the account
You do not have to delete the whole account to get rid of one document. Open the document, use the More actions menu and choose Delete document. It is removed immediately and permanently — the uploaded file, the signed PDF and the audit trail — and the rest of the account is untouched. There is no undo and no recycle bin.
A document that has already been sent for signature has to be voided first. Voiding emails everyone still holding a signing link to tell them it was cancelled; deleting it outright would leave them with a dead link and no explanation. Once voided, it can be deleted.
